I have just taken over the running of the club from zooni and would just like to say hi to everyone who is already a member.
I have been a fan of the origional film for many years now and i saw it in the year it was released many moons ago.I was very young at the time and i had sneaked around to my cousins to watch it on his betamax video player...lol.My cousin proceeded to tell me that everything in the film was real and the almost handy cam camerawork convinced me of it very quickly...(how gullible was i).It absolutely terrified me ,so much so i had to get my dad to come around from next door and walk me home...
The film was supposedly based on real events although a lot of the events it was based upon have been "added to".The film was based around the skin wearing exploits of "Ed Gein" a murderer from Wisconsin.A man who did not use DIY or furniture stores to furnish his house but instead used the skin and body parts of his poor victims to do the job.... ..nice man.
When i first saw the film i remembered it being a real gore fest but on the second watching years later i was shocked to find it was relatively blood free.Everything is shown just out of view and lets your imagination fill in the gaps.Never once do you see the killer reveal his face from behind the mask and there is never any remorse shown throughout the film making it quite a disturbing spectacle.
I have heard that they are planning to make a prequel to the first film next year where hopefully find out how this crazy family came to be.
